The Refinery Hotel is a boutique hotel in what was once the Colony Arcade. The arcade opened in 1912 as a workplace for milliners on the upper floors. In 1914, a 20,000 square foot tea room and restaurant opened on the ground floor. The hotel opened in 2013.
The Refinery retains details from its history. There are working Edison phones in the hallways and dark green leather seats in the restaurant. With 12 foot high ceilings, custom furnishings and dark hardware floors, the hotel offers a timeless New York style. The large windows make the most of the Manhattan skyline.
The hotel meets New York’s accessibility standards. A restaurant and rooftop bar serves a range of American cuisine, and New York’s famous cocktails. There’s also a jazz lounge and contemporary event space. The hotel’s staff are also multi-lingual making this a great choice for international travellers.
New York is a great musical town thanks to the nearby Broadway. There, you could see shows such as Aladdin, Moulin Rouge! or The Phantom of the Opera. The Museum of Modern Art is a short journey north while the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a little further north in Central Park.
